Being Me

What is black?
What is white?
What is day?
What is night?
What colour is grass
I’d like to know?
Please explain to me
The colour of snow.
Who was Diana?
And who is the Queen?
All those things
That you have seen.
Who is the girl
That you claim is hot?
What can you see
From your Million Pound Yacht?
What is it like
When you open your eyes?
Do you feel privileged
To see stars in the skies?
Those moving pictures
You watch on TV
Do you know what it’s like
To be me?
I can only imagine
What it would be like
To read a book
Or ride a bike.
To cross the road
Without any aid
To be sexually aroused
By a sexy French Maid.
To write a poem
And see it in print
How fast is fast
In the hundred yard sprint?
You’re born with a gift
To see all these features
The colours of earth
And it’s marvellous creatures.
I hope when I die
My sight is restored
Then I will see
The things you’ve explored.
